1988 Jackson King V - Red and Blue Dragon graphic
Delivered to Robbin on 4/18/88 'Poly (primer) only' Neckplate serial# 4594. Floyd Rose trem, Tom Anderson H-2 pickup, one volume control. Colored Chinese Dragon motif by tattoo artist Marc Rude.
This guitar was one in a series of several bolt on Jackson King V's Robbin ordered in 1988 between tours/albums as an 'experiment in woods'. He wanted to explore the differences in 'tonal quality' between the various tonewoods used to build guitars. He ordered one in Alder, one in Poplar, one in Ash, one in Maple, etc. This was one of two that he ended up keeping after he had evaluated them all. This same experiment also sparked the use of the Tom Anderson replacement pickups in his guitars.
Used extensively as one of his main guitars on the "Reach for the Sky" tour in 1989. It was also featured briefly in the video for "I Want a Woman."
